At Out West Automotive we are into keeping your car on the road safe and mechanically sound. That’s why we recommend regular servicing of your vehicle and on top of the regular servicing for a small extra charge we can do a full computer diagnostic. If any problems are found we will not undertake any work without contacting you first and giving you the cost and getting the go ahead.
Cars are not what they used to be and the major operating systems of the car that show up as warning lights when something goes wrong can be all checked electronically through the use of a high end computer diagnostic tool. We at Out West Automotive take pride in our work and one of the ways to enable us to keep your car at its healthiest is to use our diagnostic tool to discover any faults BEFORE the light comes on the dash board and rectify them.

Our computer diagnostic scanner is plugged into the cars computer port (did you even know there was one – well there is) and gives us a view of all the cars vital systems including any engine faults, ABS, traction control, SRS (Airbag) and emissions. The diagnostic tool is able to do this as it is plugged into the computer in the car, installed when it was manufactured.
When the scanner picks up an anomaly then the mechanic knows what to further check in the car to rectify the issue. The immense benefit of the diagnostic computer is obvious. The computer pin points specific problems and saves a lot of time and energy otherwise if the diagnostic tool was not used.

Out West Automotive also has a battery charger tester, to check if your battery is charging and can replace it for you if it is not working. However if the charging of the battery is not the problem you have an excuse to go for a Sunday drive along the surf highway to get it charged.
